Program Director Dr. Agapios N. Platis has been a Professor at the Department of Economics and Management Engineering of the University of the Aegean since 2015. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor from 2005, and subsequently as an Associate Professor from 2010. Prior to this appointment, he served as a lecturer in the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the University of the Aegean. The subject of this study holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering, a Master's degree in Systems Control, and a PhD in Systems Reliability, all from Compiègne University of Technology (UTC). He has also held positions at Framatome, IBM France and EDF (Electricité de France). In 2006, the French State honoured him with the prestigious title of Knight of the Order of the Academic Phoenix. His extensive authoring work includes over 80 publications in international journals and conference proceedings. The focus of his research endeavours pertains to the domains of system dependability modelling, with associated applications in the fields of power systems, transportation, marine systems, and information and communication systems. The term 'dependability', which translates into Greek as 'reliability', encompasses the components of reliability, availability, maintainability, safety-security and performability. The present author's research interests include stochastic modelling and resource availability optimisation, with applications to th
