Upon completion of their studies, a graduate of the Department of Financial and Management Engineering will have acquired the competencies of a competent engineer and professional. A comprehensive understanding of computer science, business research, management, economics and statistics will facilitate the development of expertise in both scientific inquiry and engineering practice, positioning the individual as a qualified professional in business and industry. Consequently, graduates of the Department of Financial and Management Engineering will have a wide range of professional opportunities open to them. The graduate of the TMOD will be well-positioned to pursue a career in a variety of settings, including factories, companies, organisations, banks, investment companies, stock exchange companies, and numerous business units. They will be equipped with the expertise to excel as an economist and manager.

Those who aspire to an academic career will have the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies in a range of disciplines, particularly in Financial Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Information Systems, and Management Engineering.

All graduates have the opportunity (upon their own choice) to specialize in the following areas:

  • Cost estimation studies, budget preparation and control
  • Environmental impact studies of techno-economic systems
  • Specialized computer science knowledge (advanced computer programming, computer networks, databases)
  • Technical-economic feasibility analysis of IT projects, integrated information system installation, and new technological applications
  • Scientific analysis, classification, and processing of data and information
  • General economic, social, organizational, and operational research studies and industrial studies as referenced and described in Presidential Decree 541/78 regarding the registry of consultants
