Emmanouil Christofakis

Manolis Christofakis is a Professor at the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean, specialising in "Regional Development and Policy", while from 2004 to 2015 he was a member of the teaching and research staff of the Department of Economic and Regional Development of Panteion University. Since 2017, he is also a member of the Associate Teaching Staff of the Hellenic Open University in the Thematic Unit DEO24 - Public Administration and Policy.

He has served as Chairman of the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean and is the Director (1/9/2022-31/8/2024) of the Postgraduate Programme in Business Administration (MBA) of the same Department.

He has many years of teaching experience at postgraduate level in various university departments. At the Panteion University, in the postgraduate programme of the Department of Economic and Regional Development, she has taught the subjects of Regional Planning and Programme Evaluation. At the Agricultural University of Athens, he taught for several years in the MSc "Integrated Development and Management of Rural Areas" of the Department of Rural Economy and Development, the subject "Methods and Techniques of Regional Development Planning", and in the interdepartmental MSc "Entrepreneurship and Consulting in Rural Development" of the Departments of Agricultural Economics and Development and Animal Production Sciences, the subject "Planning for Local and Regional Development". Finally, at the University of the Aegean, she has taught Public Investment and Project Management in the MSc "Economics and Management for Engineers" of the Department of Economics and Management Engineering, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management in the MSc "Business Administration-MBA" and "Business Administration for Executives-Executive MBA" of the Department of Business Administration.

He has collaborated with the Economic and Social Cohesion (E.SO.C.) Laboratory of the European Institute of the London School of Economics (L.S.E.) and with the Research University Institute for Regional Development (I.P.A.) of Panteion University.
He has published work in international peer-reviewed journals, books, edited volumes and conference proceedings on topics related to National and Regional Development Planning, Regional and Local Economic Development, Transport Policy, Tourism Development, Business Location and Local Entrepreneurship.
