
Dr. Ioanna Pavlidou holds a Ph.D. in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Business) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with a thesis entitled “The Drivers of Investors’ Decisions Throughout the Investment Process in Equity Crowdfunding.” She also holds an M.Eng. in Information Technology, Computers and Telecommunications from the University of Western Macedonia (2004) and has attended specialized programs at the University of Oxford (Microeconomics) and the Summer Institute in Computational Social Science (Princeton University & RTI International Research).
Dr. Pavlidou has served as a Senior Lecturer at Hong Kong Metropolitan University (2023–2024), where she designed and implemented the innovative course “Entrepreneurial Leadership & Sustainable Development” for more than 2,000 students. She has also taught at leading universities worldwide—including Arizona State University, Stellenbosch University, Bangkok University International, HKU SPACE, and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki—in areas such as Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, Strategic Management, Technology Management, and Cross-Cultural Management.
Currently, she serves as a Contract Lecturer at the University of the Aegean (Department of Business Administration), teaching the courses “Innovation Management” and “Strategic Technological Innovation.”
Dr. Pavlidou’s research focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment behavior, and she has published in prestigious scientific journals such as Industrial Management & Data Systems and Sustainability. She has also presented her work at international conferences in Macau, Croatia, and Taiwan, among others. Her distinctions include the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on eLearning (2020) and the Reaching Out Award from the Hong Kong Government (2018–2019).
In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Pavlidou has significant professional experience in consulting and innovation management. She has served as Business Advisor at ArTracX (a blockchain-based digital platform) and is an active member of several international organizations, including the Smart City Consortium, The Entrepreneurs’ Network, and the Global Organizational Tacit Knowledge Management Think Tank.
